John got interested in magic at 12 years of age. He got his first magic kit from his older brother. His mom always made sure he had the best birthday parties and she was his best audience member when he performed his first magic tricks.

 
John Carlson worked as a New York City Police Officer for 20 years. He started as a beat cop in Brooklyn, then worked in the SPECDA/DARE Program teaching school children about the dangers of drugs, and personal safety. He finished his career as an NYPD Officer in the Harbor Patrol shortly after 9/11.

In this picture, John appeared in 'Ripley's Believe it or Not' as a result of a civilian complaint for riding in his patrol car with a dummy on his lap.

Here is a picture of John's beautiful wife Gerette. They have been married for 25 years. Not only is she a home maker, but an avid runner and kickboxer. She placed 1st for the NYC Marathon for the borough of Staten Island. You can tell from the muscles that she's the boss!

Miriam is the oldest daughter of John and Gerette. She is married to Raymond Nieves and was the first magic assistant in the family. John made her appear magically on stage at Brooklyn College when she was 5 years old. She is also a serious student of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has recently obtained a gold medal in a national competition. She works full-time as a cosmetologist for Macy's.

Kenneth is the first and only son of John and Gerette. He is currently serving as the Youth Pastor of Coastal Community Church, and is a private guitar instructor at Atlantic Music Academy. He is also the senior web developer and marketing manager for JohnsMagic.com. He will be getting married on November 20, 2010.

Carol Ann Carlson is the baby of the family. She is currently a student seeking a career in Dental Hygiene. She works as a Macy's store clerk and as John Carlson's magical assistant.
